HOW TO BECOME A PILOT?
The journey to becoming a commercial airline pilot is long and difficult, not to mention costly. Here's how to get a job as a pilot.
The work begins as soon as you complete your 10+2 test. Make sure you have Physics, Mathematics, and Chemistry as subjects in your 10th and 12th years of study, and that you get at least a 50% in each. To be considered for pilot training, you must be in good health, have a strong body, be at least 16 years old, speak English fluently, and have good vision. To become a student pilot, the next step is to enrol in an academy. To be admitted, you must first pass the entrance exam and fulfil the requirements. You must be 18 years old to apply for commercial pilot training, and you must be 23 years old to qualify for airline transport pilot training.
While it appears to be easy, there are a few things to bear in mind. If you are in India, you must choose a DGCA (Directorate General of Civil Aviation, Government of India) approved academy that provides commercial and private pilot licence training. There are a number of academies that only have theoretical training and some simulator time, but no real flight time or aircraft training. Please disregard them. The right institute should have a wide range of aircraft as well as trained instructors who can provide hands-on instruction. There should be flight simulators as well.
