Catherine Sergautis is proud to announce her membership in the Registered Practical Nurses Association of Ontario. The Registered Practical Nurses Association of Ontario is a prominent professional society, counting among its ranks a majority of the over 38,000 registered practical nurses in Ontario. Of those, over 32,000 are currently practicing, a number that means that the Registered Practical Nurses Association of Ontario has significant influence in the health care community and a large constituency that looks to it for support.

Catherine Sergautis has been working as a nurse for five years, since her 2008 graduation from Niagara College in Welland, Niagara Falls, Ontario. This period in her education is the only time Catherine Sergautis has lived outside of London, Ontario in her life. As a registered practical nurse, Catherine Sergautis is proud to serve her home community. “Some of my patients are old friends or their families. Being a nurse in London gives me the chance to give back to those who have always supported me.”

As a member of the Registered Practical Nurses Association of Ontario, Catherine Sergautis belongs to a body that aims to advocate for nurses within the healthcare establishment, provide additional education for nurses, and act as a professional front for interactions with other healthcare societies. “I believe really strongly in the work the Registered Practical Nurses Association of Ontario does,” remarked Catherine Sergautis. “I believe in their mission of advocacy and have learned so much from their continued professional education courses since my graduation in 2008. This organization’s work is really top-notch and they are always improving and forging new paths.”

The Registered Practical Nurses Association of Ontario has as its tag line, “The one unified voice for registered practical nurses in Ontario.” Catherine Sergautis vouches for this motto. “The Registered Practical Nurses Association of Ontario not only advocated for individual nurses rights within healthcare settings, but really allows nurses to present a united front when faced with negotiations or field-wide concerns.” Catherine Sergautis is proud to be a member of the Registered Practical Nurses Association of Ontario and count herself among the many it has represented since its first incarnations in the 1940s.
