[SINGAPORE, 2/3/2018]—In line with Singapore's initiative to become more environmentally sustainable, Sentosa – The State of Fun offers GoGreen activities that promote active eco-lifestyles. Tourists and locals can discover Sentosa's hidden gems by biking, riding PTs, jogging and walking along trails.

Singapore Pushes for Environmentally Friendly Measures

The Straits Times reported in June 2017 that Singapore is aiming to be much more environmentally sustainable by the year 2020. The Public Sector Sustainability Plan revealed that meeting this target would result in $62.5 million worth of annual savings in electricity use.

The country also looked at reducing its carbon emissions in response to alarming climate changes. According to a 2015 study conducted by the Centre for Climate Research Singapore, the country's average temperature could rise by up to 4.6 degrees Celsius by the end of this century.

Being a low-lying island state, Singapore may experience the consequences of higher sea levels and extreme rainfall. The sea level could rise by up to one metre if no action is taken, the study added.

Integrating Green Practices to Tourism
