As previously announced by DoT, the auction date for multiple bands was set for June 6. However, this date has now been extended by 19 days to June 25. DoT issued an amendment stating that the "start of the live auction" has been changed from June 6 to June 25.
It should also be noted that the auction was initially scheduled for May 30, then rescheduled to June 6, and now the final date is set for June 25. Reliance Jio, Airtel, and Vi are set to participate in this auction. DoT also confirmed that the required bank guarantees have been submitted. Vodafone has deposited ₹300 crore, Airtel has deposited ₹1050 crore, and Reliance Jio has deposited a significant amount of ₹3000 crore, more than the combined deposits of the other two companies.
The auction will include various bands such as 800 MHz, 900 MHz, 1800 MHz, 2100 MHz, 2300 MHz, 2500 MHz, 3300 MHz, and 26 GHz, with a total valuation of ₹96,317.65 crore.
All three companies are eligible to bid, and both Airtel and Vodafone have renewals worth ₹4200 crore and ₹1950 crore, respectively, while Jio does not have any renewals this year.
The licenses acquired through this auction will be valid for 20 years. Additionally, if a company no longer requires the spectrum, it can be surrendered after 10 years. The payment can be made in 20 equal EMIs.
