Liverpool, United Kingdom (24 January 2013) - Fear of giving presentations is still a major cause of career stress, according to a recent survey from Love Presenting, a UK provider of presentation skills training courses.

A registration poll of more than 100 business executives revealed that nerves or lack of confidence is still the biggest issue for those who avoid having to give presentations and will go to great lengths to avoid having to present.

Caroline Hopkins, a leading presentations coach at Love Presenting, said: "Presenting well has been described as a 'killer skill' and an "unfair advantage" in business by McKinsey's-the management consulting firm-and it's easy to see why. People who present well, pitch well, sell themselves, their message, their service to their customers are not just surviving in today's competitive markets, they are thriving.

"Fear is still a big issue, closely followed by time to prepare. People are busy. They need to learn to present more confidently without it taking up time. That is why we are noticing more and more people are opting for our online programmes as they allow people to learn skills quickly, without taking time out of the office.

"The best antidote to nerves is feeling prepared and having good content to present. With some basic technique, you start to build your confidence by having a go, starting in situations that are fairly comfortable to hone your skills and building up to more important business situations."

Love Presenting has launched a 'presentation mastery' online programme that gives executives the skills to present with confidence in just a few hours of online study, supported by email coaching if they want to focus on any areas of presenting in more depth.

"People can download the sessions and have a presentation ready in a few hours, just by following the tutorials and using the templates to create their presentation."
