Cannabliss, the Florida-based wholesale distributor of medical and legal recreational marijuana products has launched a scathing attack on the results of a survey in which many Minnesota-based physicians expressed a reluctance to accept medical marijuana as a treatment option.

Conducted by Dr. Charles Reznikoff, a member of Minnesota’s Task Force on Medical Cannabis Therapeutic Research, the survey aimed to gauge opinion on and sentiment towards medical marijuana from 262 doctors practicing in the state.

Many of those sampled said they were wary of registering patients at a time when many people are abusing opioids. They also expressed reservations about difficult conversations with patients over the efficacy of medical marijuana when they themselves had yet to be convinced of the substance’s medicinal benefits.

“We were shocked by the ignorance displayed particularly given the scale of research that has been conducted into the therapy,” said Brad Flint press spokesman for Cannabliss. “They’re also ignoring a plethora of anecdotal evidence from patients whose lives have been made so much more bearable because of their use of marijuana”

Most of the doctors said the conditions that qualify for prescription of medical marijuana need to be clearer.

Cannabliss says that more educational courses need to be arranged to eliminate ignorance of medical marijuana’s effectives particularly when so many depend on their prescriptions to access treatment.

Some 479 practitioners are registered and authorized to certify patients to buy medical marijuana by the state’s health department. We’re stunned that so many are still so poorly informed about its usefulness that they question the grounds on which they prescribe it.
