Cannabliss, the Florida-based wholesale distributor of medical and legal recreational marijuana products has welcomed news that a former Kentucky congressman has launched a group that will campaign to have the use of medical marijuana made legal in the state.

Brad Flint, Press spokesman for Cannabliss said the company would support efforts made by
Ex-Congressman Mike Ward whose late brother’s last few weeks were made more bearable because he smoked marijuana.

The substance enabled Mr. Ward’s brother who died of AIDS 20 years ago to improve his appetite and help him keep food down.

“We stand ready to offer what assistance we can to Mr. Ward in what we genuinely believe is a noble crusade that, ultimately, could reduce suffering and pain for thousands of people who would otherwise be branded criminals and punished,” says Mr. Flint.

Mr. Ward said recently that people should not be regarded and treated like criminals owing to use of marijuana as a means of alleviating pain or suffering from various ailments.

Ward will serve as CEO of Legalize Kentucky Now, a not-for-profit pressure group that will lobby lawmakers to give patients dispensation to receive a physician’s prescription for medical marijuana.

Some twenty-three states in the US have already passed legislation that facilitates the use of some form of medical marijuana and Cannabliss believes that Ward’s efforts could mean that Kentucky will join the list.

"I think there is a chance we could pass a simple bill that said marijuana could be added to the list of controlled substances that could be prescribed by medical professionals," said Mr. Ward.
