“Cancer patients spend a lot of their time in hospitals because of the nature of their condition. • Comfortable seating – Comfortable seating makes a big difference when your body is in physical pain. It enables one to forget the pain for a while and just breathe. This is most important when receiving cancer treatment.

• A resource center – Cancer is vast and encompasses very many different things. Patients and their families like to know what they are dealing with but there is so much information out there, which may sometimes be contradictory or alarmist. A proper resource center equipped with relevant information in any palatable form is a welcome addition.

• Empathy and compassion – Treatment is rough and patients need a heart that will understand and empathize with what they are experiencing. They need to know that they are not alone. It takes great doctorsto deliver this as well.

“Patients require a listening ear and a caring environment,” says the Executive Director. “We strive to make our patients as comfortable as possible and remind them that we are walking this journey together with them.”
