PCS physicians treat a variety of pulmonary and sleep conditions, including, but not limited to, obstructive sleep apnea (OSA), Sleep Apnea Syndrome (SAS), narcolepsy, and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD). This is in addition to other diseases such as myasthenia gravis and rheumatoid arthritis. We can diagnose these conditions relatively easily because they have experience treating them. Acute cases of OSA can be treated with turbulence therapy, a machine that uses sound waves to help clear the airway. SAS can be treated with beta-blockers, medications that increase heart rate and reduce anxiety. You can treat narcolepsy with alpha-adrenergic blocking agents or olanzapine, a medication that blocks nerve growth in the forehead.

PCS physicians treat a variety of Pulmonary disease, one of the most common types of cancer. The treatments used for this type of cancer vary depending on the type and extent of the Fibrosis. Many of our physicians use traditional chemotherapy and radiation therapy to fight this disease. However, many other therapies can be used with chemotherapy or radiation therapy. These include stem cell transplants, surgery, and the use of autologous (self-donated) bone marrow. Even though these treatments are effective in some cases, they are not always safe or comfortable for patients. PCS physicians play an important role in treating Pulmonary Fibrosis. We use a variety of treatments to extend the life and improve the quality of life for our patients. This includes traditional chemotherapy, radiation therapy, and new methods such as stem cell transplants and surgery.
