Ahasolar Technologies has secured a consultancy contract with Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited (BPCL) to spearhead the development of a 52 MW solar power project in Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh. The project marks a significant step for BPCL in its transition towards renewable energy sources to power its refineries.
Ahasolar emerged victorious after submitting a compelling proposal in response to BPCL's tender issued in February 2024. The consultancy firm secured the ten-month contract with a winning bid of INR 51 lakh.
Under the agreement, Ahasolar will oversee the entire project lifecycle, ensuring adherence to the highest quality standards and established engineering practices. The focus of the project is to generate clean energy to supply three of BPCL's key refineries:
• Mumbai Refinery (8 MW)
• Bina Refinery (22 MW)
• Kochi Refinery (16 MW)
Ahasolar's responsibilities encompass a wide range of tasks, including:
• Preparing and finalizing engineering and tender documents
• Developing technical specifications for the project
• Formulating the terms of the Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) contract
• Managing the technical and financial evaluation of bids submitted by EPC contractors to select the most suitable partner
• Planning, supervising, and executing project activities
• Overseeing the commissioning process
• Providing post-commissioning support to ensure a smooth operational transition
This consultancy win highlights Ahasolar's expertise in the solar energy sector and positions them as a key player in facilitating India's renewable energy goals.
