You should seriously look at the use of anabolic steroids in sports and how it influences young people if you are pondering about using them. Anabolic steroids have proven dangerous and reactive to adolescents in particular.

Steroids are made up of synthetic material that acts similar to testo-sterone. Testosterone is naturally produced by males also to a lesser degree, by females. There is nothing natural about steroids, however. Right now there is no question that they do help people to "bulk up" quicker and that has recently been their appeal.

Let's look at the use of steroids in sports and how it influences young people. Steroids cause the hormones to become unbalanced. This especially impacts teenagers in their development of gender specific traits. Girls will grow excessive body hair, get deeper sounds and their breasts shrink in size. Boys testicles shrink, their sperm count number decreases, and they develop breasts. Instead of girls becoming more feminine and kids more masculine, they are doing the reverse. It is awkward and disfiguring to say the least!

Steroid use also may stunt the growth of the user. Typically the end of puberty the majority of the time signals the body that the growing period is over and the bones stop growing. The mixed-up hormone state caused by the steroid drugs mistakenly informs the body that puberty is over and growth stops. This specific growth loss is long term, quite a cost to pay for being "ripped"!

There are other serious health risks from taking steroids. Organs and muscles can be influenced adversely. Individual cells make protein than can lead to liver tumors and even cancer. At times cysts form in the liver that are stuffed with blood and they can rupture and cause internal bleeding, which is often deadly!

Steroids can be used in pill form or shot with a hypodermic hook. Both are dangerous. Customers may do "stacking" which is using two or more steroids together to get faster results. Or even, they may "pyramid", meaning starting in lower dosages, little by little increasing, then decreasing dosage. This is over a 6 - twelve week cycle.

Other side effects include greasy epidermis, severe acne, hair loss, bad breath, a weakened immune system and even behavioral changes. Long term use has been associated with changes in mood, and even aggressive, rage-filled rampages.

Anabolic steroids are occasionally recommended by a medical medical doctor for anemia or for men who have the testosterone count. Abuse of steroids means taking dosages 10 times to 100 times more powerful than that recommended medically.

Teenagers should stay clear of using these artificial steroids. The fast, easy way to "bulking up" is filled with hazards that could permanently disfigure them and cause serious health conditions. Parents should also beware of use of steroids in sports and how it influences young adults.
