Mandibular advancement devices are custom-made oral appliances that help to snore and sleep apnea by gently moving your lower jaw forward and preventing the soft tissues from obstructing your airways. They consist of moldable thermoplastic trays to comfortably fit your upper and lower teeth. They also come with hinges or elastic bands to control the level of adjustment of your lower jaws. Typically, the advancements happen in 1 mm increments.

While Continuous Positive Airway Pressure (CPAP) are very effective for moderate to severe sleep apnea, they can be tedious and uncomfortable to use. In contrast, oral devices like the mandibular advancement devices, are easier to use and are usually highly effective for moderate sleep apnea.
