Dubai, UAE: Indian hardware and tools manufacturers are eyeing the Middle East to boost their exports

Dubai, UAE: Indian hardware and tools manufacturers are eyeing the Middle East to boost their exports, as sluggish growth in traditional markets in North America and Europe stoke increased interest in new dynamic regions.

With exports worth nearly US$300 million annually, the Indian hand tools industry is dominated by SMEs based in the northern part of the country, especially Jalandhar and Ludhiana in the state of Punjab.

Many of these will be out in full force at the Hardware+Tools Middle East exhibition, the region’s premier trade development and networking platform for hardware, tools, materials and machinery.

The Indian presence at the upcoming edition, which takes place from 3-5 June a the Dubai International Convention and Exhibition Centre, is the largest ever, with a dedicated Indian Pavilion featuring the product lines of 17 leading manufacturers.

Now in its 15th edition, the three-day event is the ideal launch pad for Indian exhibitors looking to gain a foothold into the lucrative Middle East market.

Organiser Epoc Messe Frankfurt also reported intense interest in the region from Indian tools manufacturers during a series of roadshows held in the country earlier this year.

“The Indian hardware and tools industry is developing rapidly and as manufacturers spread their nets wider in search of new markets, Hardware+Tools Middle East offers them unmatched access to key buyers and decision makers from across the region,” said Ahmed Pauwels, CEO of Epoc Messe Frankfurt.

The Indian Pavilion at Hardware+Tools Middle East is organised by the National Small Scale Industries Corporation (NSIC), which lends support to Indian SMEs participating in exhibitions abroad.

Among those already having confirmed their participation at the three-day event include Gurukirpa Engineering Corp, Vishivkarma, Blackjack and Miles Corporation.

Hardware+Tools Middle East 2014, is expected to be larger and more representative than its previous edition, which featured 224 exhibitors occupying 2,300 sqm of exhibition space.

With four main focus area of Tools, Machinery, Materials and Hardware, Hardware+Tools Middle East attracts a wide range of trade buyers and decision makers from across the region.
