PERRELET enriches its Diamond Flower feminine line with a new model named Diamond Flower Amytis: a collection designed “by women for women” and combining a unique technique with brilliant expertise. It embodies all the mastery of the watchmaking art along with a keen flair for feminine aesthetic details.

This name with age-old overtones is inspired by the history of the hanging gardens of Babylon, the stunning architectural treasures built by Nebuchadnezzar to remind his wife, Amytis of Media, of the forest-covered mountains of her native land. With its original Diamond Flower Amytis collection, PERRELET thereby pays tribute to one of the seven wonders of the ancient world and doubtless the most beautiful, while evoking the grace and beauty of Amytis of Media, Queen of Babyoln.

The collection is equipped with a movement automatically wound via an oscillating weight, the Double Rotor P-181-H, patented by PERRELET and entirely produced within its Manufacture. It affords the opportunity of observing two rotors: one on the dial side, and the other on the movement side. Their perfectly synchronized coordination drives the barrel and ensures more efficient winding. This fascinating mechanism is celebrating its 20th anniversary this year, since it was developed by the brand engineers in 1995 and has been regularly reinterpreted ever since. In the Diamond Flower Amytis collection, the rotor on the dial side depicts flower petals swaying in time with wrist movements and creating a suspended effect in reference to the hanging gardens of Babylon. Each woman thus plays an active role in the life of her watch through her own gestures.

The collection is composed of three models, featuring a stainless steel 36.5 mm-diameter stainless steel case fitted with a see-through sapphire crystal caseback. A model with a black or white mother-of-pearl dial and matching alligator leather strap is enhanced by an openworked Double Rotor shaped like flower petals and partially set with diamonds. Another even more precious version is distinguished by a diamond-set bezel framing a white and anthracite dial, while the Double Rotor is adorned with petals and enhanced by white mother-of-pearl and diamonds. On all three models, elegant Roman numerals converging towards the center endow this collection with an ultimate touch of character and originality.
