Birla Academy of Art & Culture Receives Phenomenal Response for Screening 2 unique Documentaries

Birla Academy of Art & Culture is soaking up the success of the global audience after screening two documentary films.

 
Kolkata, the city of Joy has always been a wonder city when it comes to creativity and cultural displays! The city with its known, famous and fresh talents has been bringing to life several creative renditions. And Birla Academy of Art & Culture, being one of the popular art galleries in Kolkata is a connoisseur of creative endeavours and in the recent times has received excellent audience applause and global appreciation for screening of two documentaries that showcased two very diverse subject matters. The two documentary films that got screened are “Amrita Sher Gil” and “Ganesh Pyne: A Painter of Eloquent Silence”.

“At Birla Academy of Art & Culture we are always in a constant attempt to get the best creative events lined up for audience that have an artistic pulse. We are very happy to screen these two movies that are rich in the subject and showcase two artists in two distinctive ways. Both the movies expresses the mind works an artist but with an interesting difference that our audience loved. Whilst Amrita Sher Gil concentrated on the artist’s talent and her inspirations that she drew from people around her, the documentary Ganesh Pyne had more deep and subtle undertones that got accepted very well”, said a company spokesperson.

The screening of these two documentaries went to yet another paradigm as the directors of both the films, that is B.D. Garga director of “Amrita Sher Gil” and Buddhadeb Dasgupta the director of “Ganesh Pyne: A Painter of Eloquent Silence” were present. This provided chance for the audience to interact with the directors and ask questions that were pertinent to the screening and also share their individual perspective and inspiration to come up with the idea of a documentary on the chosen subjects.

“I came to Kolkata on a 15 day tour. I stay in Boston. And being culturally inclined I was searching for the best events in the city when I chanced upon this event. The subject of these two fabulous documentary films drew my attention. And now that I have walked in to the auditorium and have experienced this event, it was something that I would carry back home. The depiction of the documentary was excellent and the insight of both the directors was incredible. I am happy I made it for the event”, said an audience of this event soon after the screening of the documentary films.
