Its latest offering Samsung Galaxy M40 covers the upper tier of the mid-range segment. At Rs 19,990, it’s the most expensive Galaxy M smartphone thus far.

Samsung has today announced the launch of its latest mid-range smartphone, the Galaxy M40. The smartphone comes with a price tag of Rs 19,990 and it will be available for purchase from Amazon and Samsung Mobile Shop starting from June 18.

Galaxy M40 is the first M-series device to come with a punch-hole display and Android 9.0 out of the box.

It's defining feature is its Infinity-O punch-hole display, which is a first for this segment. It also packs a mid-range Snapdragon chipset and a 32MP triple camera setup. But all of this comes with a few trade-offs - no AMOLED panel, no headphone jack and a smaller battery compared to previous Galaxy M phones. 1. Display
The Samsung Galaxy M40 has the same 6.4-inch Super AMOLED display that is in the Galaxy M30. This display has Full HD+ resolution and an Infinity-V notch at the top. For impact protection, the display features Corning Gorilla 3.

2. Performance:
The Samsung Galaxy M40 is the first device in its lineup to use a Qualcomm chipset the Snapdragon 675, making the M40 the most powerful smartphone in its lineup at the time of its launch. This is the same chipset that powers the Redmi Note 7 Pro. The Snapdragon 675 has octa-core CPU and Adreno 612 GPU. The Galaxy M40 comes in two variants 4GB RAM + 64GB storage, and 6GB RAM + 128GB storage. This particular version has 4GB + 64GB configuration. The Galaxy M40 runs on Android 9 Pie operating system, and it has Samsung s OneUI customization.

3. Camera:
The Samsung Galaxy M40 features a dual-camera setup, which has a 25MP conventional camera, and an 8MP ultra-wide camera. The Galaxy M40 is the first smartphone in its lineup up feature 4K video recording. This has been possible because of the powerful chipset (which we will talk about later). The front-facing camera of the Galaxy M40 is a 16MP unit. And it is capable of Full HD video recording.

4. Battery:
The Samsung Galaxy M40 packs a massive, 5000mAh battery. And it even comes with 15W Adaptive Fast Charging support. The device offers all the connectivity options that you should expect from a smartphone that has been launched in 2019, such as, USB Type-C port, dual-SIM with dual-4G and dual-VoLTE, dual-band Wi-Fi ac, and Bluetooth v5.0. The Galaxy M40 also has a rear-mounted fingerprint scanner.

5. Price Range:
Samsung Galaxy M40 Price starts at Rs. 19,990. The lowest price of Samsung Galaxy M40 is at Amazon. Galaxy M40 is not available in other online stores. Samsung Galaxy M40 is available in Midnight Blue, Seawater Blue colors across various online stores in India.

The Samsung Galaxy M40 is surely one of the best-designed smartphones from Samsung in this price range. The phone is equipped with a compact form factor and the display looks immersive in nature. The hardware used is fair good and the company is giving you some decent camera hardware as well. The battery seems to be a down point.
