Betty Mackie Raleigh is a highly experienced and professional DIY renovator, who has designed and overseen 5 home renovations. She designed the layouts and acted as general contractor of the new kitchens. Betty strives to work closely with the interior designers and owners to decide many vital factors required in the entire renovation process. She was able to re-purpose many of the accessible and existing materials that were already there from repainting old doors and for re-purposing things. It included doorknobs, antique hinges, stained glass windows, and many more. She did so that they were current looking, and to its original condition. Not only this, she is meant responsible for overseeing outdoor spaces with the sub contractors.

Betty Mackie Raleigh re-purposed many of the fixtures including light, kitchen and bath. Keeping in mind the coastal theme, she chose the decor for the houses where necessary and also encountered many sever problems. Her problems include -

Discovering water leaks in one of the projects, which required working closely with the engineers, local and county building inspectors.
Responsibility for paying contractors and staying within a fixed budget for each project.
For dealing with uncooperative contractors in order to get the repair work done.
Dealing with the landscaping firms that cut down the wrong trees, which needs to be replanted at their expense.
Dealing with a national window firm that sized and ordered the incorrect size windows and were forced to cover the expenses incurred.

Betty Mackie Raleigh is a seasoned professional who has worked as a writer, health insurance agent, designer, business consultant, and medical administrator. She attended the North Carolina State University and is a UNC Charlotte graduate in English literature. Later, she attended East Tennessee State University (ETSU) and obtained a degree in Liberal Arts. She is happily married to Chris Donovin, who is a licensed and certified physician assistant. She is also a soccer enthusiast and loves to travel in and around the United States. During her free time, Betty likes to read books and novels, go for swimming and bike rides. Occasionally, she goes for walk in the mountains and beaches. She likes listening to classical music, goes for ballet shows and car shows.
