CardValet is a mobile application that enables Patriot Bank account holders to monitor their personal or business debit cards. It can set spending limits for general use or specify thresholds by merchant types, such as gasoline, groceries, or retail stores. The app also has a transaction control feature that allows the user’s cards to work only in specific locations or geographic areas.

Users can monitor their finances anytime, anywhere to check balances and review recent card transactions. “With convenient features like threshold limits, merchant categories and location on/off controls, you decide where, when, and how your child uses their debit card,” says Patriot Bank.

Security and Fraud Protection

CardValet gives the user real-time alerts whenever a debit card transaction happens. The user can then monitor all recent debit card activities and easily detect fraud. Debit cards can also be turned off when they are not in use or if they are temporarily lost using the app. While a debit card is turned off, all transactions will be denied.

CardValet is Patriot Bank’s answer to debit card fraud. According to the company: “Debit card fraud is a wide-ranging term for theft and fraud committed using or involving a payment card as a fraudulent source of funds in a transaction. The purpose may be to obtain goods without paying, or to obtain unauthorized funds from an account.”

The mobile application is available for download for both Android and Apple smartphones.
