SGS, the world’s leading testing, inspection and certification company, has published details of revisions to the safety standard for toys in China. GB/T 19865-2024 was announced by the Standardization Administration of China (SAC) on July 24, 2024.

GB/T 19865-2024 replaces GB 19865-2005, and is effective from August 1, 2026. Among the updates are additional requirements for coin and button battery toys, and changes to testing parameters and temperature limits. The revised standard is based on the international standard IEC 62115:2017.
