Aaron School, one of the widely acclaimed schools for special needs, announces its upcoming Summer Arts Program 2015; a special education camp held for current, potential and non-Aaron School students. The camp can be attended by students from grades 7-12 at 42 E30th Street located between Madison Avenue and Park Avenue South. The camp will run from July 13, 2015 to August 7, 2015.
Aaron School is a K-12 private special education school that caters to children with reading, writing, math, attention, social and sensory challenges. The school was founded in 2003 and occupies two campuses in the East Side of Manhattan. The school’s ideology is centered on enabling each student to become a confident and successful learner.
The Summer Arts Program will include art, cooking and field trips to museums, parks and green markets. The camp will be led by trained Aaron School staff and will cater to each child’s needs and interests. According to the Aaron Summer Arts Program Director, “Our Summer Arts Program promises to offer enriching activities that provide participants with a means to recreation and are likely to produce teachable moments as well. Our staff is well-trained in providing special education and will strive to accommodate each child’s interests and needs in order to make the summer camp a meaningful and memorable experience for each one of them.”
The Summer Arts Program will be held over two sessions. The first session called ‘The Great Outdoors’ will be conducted from July 13, 2015 to July 24, 2015 whereas the second session termed ‘Wild Style’ will be held from July 27, 2015 to August 7, 2015.
The Summer Arts program will help provide new fall students an opportunity to familiarize themselves with the school building, teachers and school routine. The special education camp will offer a structured and supported environment to students for enabling peer interactions among participants from different schools and regions.
The camp aims to cater to the special needs of participants with an effective small student-teacher ratio which is geared towards enabling teachers to focus on specialized activities to meet the interests of the students.
Aaron School is an independent school accredited by Middle States Association of Colleges and Schools and National Independent Private Schools Association. Aaron School caters to each child’s special needs with a collaborative educational team consisting of a head teacher, assistant teacher, school psychologist, social worker, speech therapist, occupational therapist and other professionals that discuss their observations regarding each student’s progress and devise ways to shape their future educational journey at the school.
