Hydraulic brake ball head bolts are a common metal fastener. The process flow of hydraulic brake ball head bolts consists of three parts.  

The first part is the pre-treatment process, including the precision and appearance inspection before plating of the metal hydraulic brake ball head bolt, manual degreasing, soaking and degreasing, pickling, electro-activation and flash nickel plating; 

The second part of the electroless nickel plating process; 

The third part is the post-treatment process of hydraulic brake ball head bolts, including processes such as hydrogen flooding heat treatment, polishing and finished product inspection.

The pretreatment process is a key process that determines the quality of hydraulic brake ball head bolts. The purpose of this process is to remove the passivation layer on the surface of hydraulic brake ball head bolts and prevent the regeneration of the passivation film. The execution status of this process directly determines the quality of the combination of the substrate and the coating. Most of the quality accidents in production are caused by poor pretreatment of hydraulic brake ball head bolts. The oil stains, rust and oxide scale attached to the surface of the bolts must be carefully removed before plating; the difference from electroplating is that it should be checked more carefully, and the hydraulic brake ball head bolts that are not cleanly treated are absolutely not allowed to be plated. 

① Inspection of hydraulic brake ball head bolts; visually inspect the surface quality of the bolts. Any burrs left by machining must be removed, and sharp edges must be rounded. 

② Manual degreasing; ensure that there is no grease on the surface of the substrate.  

③Soaking and degreasing; Put the hydraulic brake ball head bolts into alkaline water and boil to remove the surface oil stains.

④Pickling: In order to prevent the alkaline degreasing solution from polluting the flash nickel plating tank, electro-activation treatment is carried out with the pickling solution before the flash nickel plating. 

⑤Electrical activation: Electroactivate the hydraulic brake ball head bolts with acid solution. 

⑥ Flash nickel plating; for low alloy steels, flash nickel plating should be used to increase the bonding strength between the plating layer and the substrate.

Post process of hydraulic brake ball head bolts

The nickel-phosphorus plating post-treatment of metal hydraulic brake ball studs includes two main processes: hydrogen driving and polishing.

①Hydrogen drive: According to relevant standards, the hydrogen drive temperature after plating is 200±10℃, and the treatment time is 2h. 200℃ is beneficial to eliminate hydrogen embrittlement, relax internal stress, improve the bonding force between the coating and the substrate, and improve the corrosion resistance of the coating.

②Polishing: The polished hydraulic brake ball head bolts have a bright appearance, but in order to better improve the quality of the coating, level the tiny traces, and obtain a bright mirror-like surface, a polishing machine is required to polish the coating.
