To prevent corrosion, the tee must be rust-free.

A tee is a chemical pipe fitting with three openings, namely one inlet and two outlets (or two inlets and one outlet).

A tee is a chemical pipe fitting with three openings, namely one inlet and two outlets (or two inlets and one outlet). It is mainly used at the junction of three identical or different pipelines. There are many materials for making tee fittings, including carbon steel, cast steel, alloy steel, stainless steel, copper, aluminum alloy, plastic, argon asphalt, PVC, etc. If carbon steel is used to produce tee fittings, it needs to be treated with anti-corrosion and rust removal. So, do you know how to remove rust from the tee? What rust removal methods are needed?
The rust removal of the tee requires cleaning, rust removal, pickling, and spraying. Specifically, it is:
1. Cleaning of the tee
For stains that are easy to remove on the tee fittings, we can wash them with clean water, but for grease, dust, lubricants and similar organic matter, we can use mild, neutral liquids to clean them.
2. Rust removal of tee
Generally, we can use physical rust removal. The rust removal tools used at this time include hammers, shovels, scrapers, wire brushes, etc. Generally, thick rust spots are loosened with hammers and then removed with shovels; pneumatic or electric rust removal can be used, such as angle grinders, pneumatic needle beam rust removers, pneumatic rust hammers, toothed rotary rust removers, etc.;
Shot peening (sand) treatment can be used, mainly composed of particle jet erosion to achieve surface cleanliness and appropriate roughness. The equipment includes open shot peening (sand) rust removal machine, closed shot peening (sand chamber), vacuum shot peening (sand) machine, among which open shot peening (sand) machine is more widely used and can better remove all impurities on the metal surface, such as oxide scale, rust and old paint film. The rust removal efficiency is as high as 4~5m2/h, the mechanical degree is high, and the rust removal quality is good; shot blasting can be used for rust removal, that is, using a high-speed rotating impeller to throw abrasives onto the steel surface to achieve the purpose of rust removal.
It should be noted that:
(1) Manual rust removal reaches SA2 level, electric rust removal reaches SA3 level, and spray (spraying) technology can reach the technical conditions of near white level (Sa2.5), with low operating costs and stable and reliable quality.
(2) The use of abrasives, we should select abrasives according to the hardness of the tee surface, the original corrosion degree, the surface roughness required by the customer, the type of coating, etc. The mixed abrasive of steel sand and steel shot is more likely to achieve the best rust removal effect. Even if it is used for the surface of C and D grade rusted steel, the rust removal effect is also very good. Therefore, it can be used for rust removal of various steel surfaces; abrasive particle size and proportion are also important. If the roughness is too large, the anti-corrosion layer will become thinner at the peak of the anchor pattern. If the tee pipe fittings are used like this, corrosion is likely to occur.
Okay, the above is the answer to "How to do rust removal of tee". In general, to do anti-corrosion treatment of tee, you must first do a good job of rust removal, so that the anti-corrosion coating can be tightly bonded to the tee pipe fittings.
