New Zealand captain Kane Williamson has recently praise veteran India wicketkeeper-batsman MS Dhoni and he also referred to him as a special individual. Williamson also spoke about Dhoni's unique way of focusing on the game without getting distracted by anything else.

The two last met in the ICC Cricket World Cup 2019 semi-final where New Zealand successfully beat India and reached the final but there they eventually lost to the hosts and now winners England. However, since then, MS Dhoni has been on a break since and didn’t feature in a single game. His absence from the game also led the discussion to his retirement as well which later died down as he started practising for the 13th edition of the India Premier League.

As the global pandemic novel coronavirus has brought the world into a standstill, all the sporting events have either been postponed or cancelled including the 2020 Indian Premier League. Although a call on its future is coming in the near future when the ICC and the BCCI will discuss this.

"You might finish a series and try and have a quick chat and find the secret, but he (Dhoni) seems to take it in his stride and appreciate the game," Kane Williamson said on Star Sports' show Cricket Connected. "He seems to remember what is important and not get too caught up with some of those things that may be distracting, very focused on what's important, but a special individual."

One of the most celebrated players in the world cricket has so far played 350 ODIs and 98 T20Is in which he has 10,773 and 1,617 runs respectively in his kitty. He has played 90 matches in the longest format of the game before announcing his retirement from Test cricket. If not the COVID-19 pandemic, MS Dhoni would have seen leading his team Chennai Super Kings in the 13th edition of the Indian Premier League. However, the hope is still there of its taking place this year.
