Weighing of these materials will take place while they are transferred to the drying and mixing drum. Weighing is done by load cell fitted on the charging conveyor. In the hot mix plants, there is a single drum for drying and mixing of aggregates. This drum is not divided into separate compartment but the first part of the drum is for drying of aggregates in parallel flow design. Parallel flow means that the flow of aggregates and the direction of the burner flame is in one direction.
Bitumen, minerals and other additives are added to the later part of the drum. There are pollution control devices like dry and wet dust types, even bag house filters are available.
