Mark Walker, Owner Of Home Snuggers Inc., Talks About The Success Of Foam Insulation In Increasing Energy Efficiency In Homes.

WINDHAM, ME - Saving money on utilities is high on every homeowner’s priorities, but, according to Mark Walker of Home Snuggers, Inc. the savings can be immediate with foam insulation. Foam insulation is proving to increase the energy efficiency of homes, and is eco-friendly, too.

Traditional spray-in foam has good insulating qualities, but it releases harmful vapors as it expands. The installers must wear respirators as they apply the foam due to potential health hazards. RetroFoam, however, is quickly taking the place of less eco-friendly foam insulation. It doesn’t have the off-vapors of traditional foam, so the installers don’t have to wear protective equipment. RetroFoam is becoming the foam insulation of choice in home remodels throughout Maine.

Home Snuggers, Inc., an insulation contractor in Windham, recently received their RetroFoam installation and distribution rights in the state of Maine. “We’re very pleased to be associated with RetroFoam and its leading edge in sustainability and green Technoklogy,” says Mark Walker, general manager of Home Snuggers. “Our focus is solely on retrofitting existing homes and buildings throughout southern Maine. Year into the future, as far down the road as anyone can seem energy costs are not going down. We plan to be there with healthy, affordable products, and the integrity of a good neighbor in the community.”

RetroFoam has the highest R-Value per inch of any other insulation available for home insulation. In addition, it is a Class 1 fire retardant. Walker says, “It usually takes only a day for installation. There is also very little cleanup, because it’s injected from the outside.

One customer, Dan Edwards of Bridgton, had his home “snugged” last November, and states, “We’ve noticed a difference in our heat use, and used a tank less this year. Plus, the house is quieter – a plus here on Rt. 302.”

Another recipient of RetroFoam from Home Snuggers, Debora King of Cape Elizabeth, said that one cold morning, “I walked into the office and exclaimed, ‘It is so hot in here. You have to turn the heat down,’ apparently, the RetroFoam is working. The heat wasn’t even on.”

Walker says that Home Snuggers installs RetroFoam throughout the summer, and is now taking appointments for July.
