He went on to add that “with smokers being increasingly targeted almost as a sub-human section of society for doing nothing other than using a perfectly legal product and on which they pay a disproportionately high level of tax, we felt that they would welcome an opportunity to regain some individuality by not only reviving the once fashionable cigarette case itself but, by using state of the art digital printing technology, allow them to now also completely customize their cigarette case however they wanted using any combination of personal photos, graphics, images and text”.

The company has previously stated that there is no proof whatsoever that plain packaging for cigarette packs will deter children from starting to smoke or to even force adults to reduce consumption. On the contrary they say that there is actually evidence to suggest that plain packaging does little more than make life extremely difficult for tobacconists and much easier for counterfeiters. Recent research by leading Auditors KPMG on the effects of the plain packaging initiative in Australia appears to support this stance.
