Jacksonville, CO, August 23, 2013 -- Students at Heritage Institute in Jacksonville will welcome recent high school graduates and members of the public to their campus on Monday, August 26 for an open house. Visitors will learn about the career training offered at Heritage by participating in engaging hands-on activities.

Heritage students will demonstrate the skills they have learned and offer complimentary services to guests. Heritage students study for careers in therapeutic massage, esthetics, healthcare administration, pharmacy technology, medical assisting (with limited-scope x-ray training), and personal fitness training.

“What an opportunity this is,” said Jacksonville Campus Director Michele Grant. “Heritage graduates serve this community throughout their careers, and it’s a pleasure to welcome neighbors to the facility. The Heritage mission is service, and students love this opportunity to teach guests about health and wellness.”
Activities will include the following:

Esthetics: Receive skin analysis and hand scrubs

Therapeutic Massage: Receive chair massages and postural assessments

Pharmacy Technician: Visit the mock pharmacy to fill a candy prescription

X-Ray Medical Technician®-Medical Assistant: Check blood pressure, pulse, height, weight, and receive smoking cessation information

Personal Trainer: Fitness Assessments to check cardio and strength abilities

The event will be held Monday, August 26, 2013. In order to accommodate the busy schedules of attendees, a morning session, an afternoon session and an evening session are planned: 10:45am – 12:30pm, 3:15pm-5:00pm and also 5:30pm – 7:15pm.
