IMServ Europe, one of the UK's largest independent energy data management providers will be showcasing Energy DataVision (EDV) 2.0, a powerful, energy management software and Control 10, a stand-alone, programmable monitoring and control device designed specifically for building energy management of smaller premises at The Energy Event 2013, (Stand B12) on 10 - 11 September at the NEC, Birmingham.

IMServ works closely with many FTSE 250 organisations and companies within the commercial and industrial sectors, processing around 20 million data items per day.

Justin Vroone, Commercial Director at IMServ explains, "Our experience has provided the perfect footing to develop this intuitive energy data visualisation software which allows organisations to capture, visualise and analyse their energy consumption and so reduce energy inefficiency, carbon emissions and unnecessary costs."

Rising energy costs and increasing pressures on organisations to monitor and manage their energy usage more effectively is driving the need to embrace energy intelligence. Corporate Social Responsibility, the CRC Energy Efficiency Scheme 1, along with legislation such as the 2011 Energy Act2 (which made provision for the arrangement and financing of energy efficiency improvements) and the EC's Energy Efficiency Directive 20123 are all fuelling the requirement for organisations to monitor and visualise their energy performance in greater depth than ever before.

Justin explains, "EDV 2.0 has fulfilled the demand for an end-to-end energy management tool. While there are other suppliers who provide parts of the solution, EDV 2.0 provides everything; from data collection and storage, through to reporting and analysis."

The easy-to-use and highly secure web portal transforms raw data into intelligent information. This will then enable a company to review consumption and patterns of use in order to investigate opportunities to save energy, reduce utility costs and control emissions. The interface also provides the means to effectively demonstrate CSR credentials or produce carbon and energy compliance reports, as well as helping to make really informed decisions about future energy planning. The development of IMServ's Control 10 marks a new strategic direction for the company. The stand-alone, programmable monitoring and control device provides greater flexibility for IMServ to tailor fit its solutions to meet customer's requirements.

Traditional Building Energy Management Systems (BEMS) are often too expensive for customers with smaller premises to install and the cost of site visits have also acted as an inhibitor. However, IMServ is able to keep costs low by ensuring that no site visits are required to change the settings. This is achieved by remote site management available through IMServ's "bureau team", providing customers with the reassurance of 24/7 telephone support. Customers also have quick and secure access to their data from any location using the online web portal so that heating, ventilation, air conditioning, gas, water and electricity can all be managed remotely.

Justin explains, "Customers' feedback and experience has been considered during the design of the IMServ Control 10. The product has been developed to make BEMS a cost effective solution for smaller sites. We have ensured that our controller allows versatile installation options, communications methods and hardware options to allow smaller premises to achieve an attractive ROI.

Editor' Notes

1. CRC Energy Efficiency Scheme - is a mandatory scheme (currently under review) aimed at improving energy efficiency and cutting emissions in large public and private sector organisations. These organisations are responsible for around 10% of the UK's emissions.

2. Energy Act 2011 - The Energy Act 2011 is a wide-ranging piece of legislation. Best known as the vehicle for implementing the government's flagship "Green Deal" policy, the Act also contains a number of other energy-related measures for businesses.

3. EC's Energy Efficiency Directive 2012 establishes a common framework of measures for the promotion of energy efficiency within the Union in order to ensure the achievement of the Union's 2020 20 % headline target on energy efficiency and to pave the way for further energy efficiency improvements beyond that date.
