Today's broadcast facilities are like data centres with multiple redundant servers for ingest, playout, distribution and NMS network, and they cannot afford to lose power. Whether supporting editing bays, newsrooms, studios or paid ads on live broadcast, reliable electrical infrastructure is mandatory

Keeping clean and dirty power lines separate and served by separate transformers, panel boards and raceways can provide safe, appropriate protection from common and normal mode noise. Generally uninterruptible power supplies and power distribution units are serving both the technical and dirty power systems, it is mandatory to use separate distribution systems with clean power conductors shielded from noise from nearby dirty circuits.

Isolated ground systems have long been considered best for reducing noise signals on the power supply of electronic equipment. Maintaining the integrity of an IG system in today's large, digital, networked broadcasting facilities is nearly impossible

Challenges from faulty design, incorrect installation of wiring and conduit for maintenance, noise distortion and incorrect application of isolated ground systems can harm the very infrastructure that was designed to protect the broadcast environment's power supply.

This is the reason why experts are called in to give a proper connection for these antennas and servers. Most of these equipments were built to be constantly supplied with electricity and if there is any slightest breakdown in power supply, it could lead to a serious damage or breakdown in performance of the equipments.

Another important reason why electrical connections should be properly made on any broadcasting site is to avoid an eruption of fire outbreak. This fire outbreak can be caused by very poor wiring or even using substandard wires which is fake.

Thunder and lightning is another reason why earthling is very important in a broadcasting facility. The earthling serves to protect these equipments from any change in weather or sudden lightening during rainy season. If there is no proper earthling, the chances of the facility being set ablaze is really high. In other words, during the site survey, the electrical earthling and wiring should be seriously put into consideration.

Noise pollution would be avoided with a proper earthling. Without a proper earthling, there would be a very high rate of noise pollution and it will not just cause a very serious noise pollution but it would cause a lot of disruption in service delivery.

Proper electrical wiring can increase the productivity of a particular broadcasting company. In the event where in that there is epileptic power supply to the facility, there would be a very slow pace of work and it would surely be catastrophic for the business of broadcasting. It should be noted however that during service repairs and maintenance of some equipments, there would be need for a re – wiring of the entire facility. This is usually done by most companies to avoid any sort of negative happenings. Most of the wires might have actually stood the test of time and even though there is no sign of failure of power supply, it is more like a safe and preventive step to take.
