BPW Ottawa's event “Women Empowerment through Interfaith Dialogue and Arts” is designed to empower women so that they may learn about religions, cultures, and arts as well as gain access to relevant resources and programs.

BPW Ottawa has created the event “Women Empowerment through Interfaith Dialogue and Arts” to empower women so that they may learn about religious and cultural commonalities and differences as well as different types of arts and eventually gain access to relevant resources and programs.

This virtual event will start at 6:45 pm EST on Oct 21; the main event will begin at 7 pm EST. Please register through our Eventbrite page https://www.eventbrite.ca/e/bpw-ottawa-women-empowerment-through-interfaith-dialogue-and-arts-tickets-168361777609?aff=ebdsoporgprofile

The event will begin with a speech by Reverend Michelle Singh who is the Executive Director of Faith & the Common Good (https://www.faithcommongood.org). Michelle has been extensively engaged in Canada’s interfaith movement; her accomplishments include co-founding a multi-faith Spiritual Dialogue Circle and acting as the Board member and Steering Committee Co-Chair for the 2018 Parliament of the World’s Religions.

The second part of this event will have a dance performance by an international artist Nefertiti San Miguel, founder of Etnia Fusion (https://etniafusion.com). Nefertiti is versed in dance, educational programs, and functional arts. Not only has she gained recognition from multiple types of media including television programs, but she has also worked with podcasts from Australia, Canada, and New Zealand.

Interfaith Dialogue and Arts have proven to be a powerful combination that has improved understanding of people’s experiences and beliefs; thus, we hope to eventually eliminate women abuse by reducing social issues such as the impact of the Shecession caused by the COVID-19 pandemic.

BPW Ottawa is part of BPW International. BPW International is a non-profit organization that has Consultative Status with the United Nations Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC) and the Council of Europe; it is the member of Civil Society of Organization of American States (OAS); and, it represents women at several organizations including the United Nations, UNESCO, and UNICEF. BPW Ottawa seeks to provide equal status and justice to women by providing awareness, education, advocacy, and mentoring.
