Like most English educated children studying in Bharat in the 1980s and early 1990s, especially before the advent of the Internet, my view of Bharat was conditioned by Amar Chitra Katha comics, 80sEpicsTV serials and our boring ICSE History text books.
It was only in my 20s, and especially after the advent of the internet and availability of online book buying in the mid 1990s, did I step outside the confines of this misguided influence and learn about our great history and heritage.
Bharata has the greatest history and heritage ever made by any civilisation in the history of the Universe.
It is a real shame to what we have become today because we blindly try to ape and emulate the fraud FUKUS (France, UK, USA) systems which are totally unsuitable not only to us, but to any country on this planet, including the FUKUS countries themselves, and especially harmful to this world and all beings in it and even more harmful to Nature, the supreme embodiment of Brahman.
It really makes you wonder about the state of this world when the priceless Amazon rain forest is valued at $20 million, and the Amazon online shopping website is valued at almost a trillion dollars.
There is something seriously long with such FUKUS systems that value money as the root of all happiness andplace little or no value to Nature which is the greatest gift bestowed to use by Brahman, worth more than all the priceless treasures in all heavens.
There is something even more wrong with FUKUS systems that place money and power as the source of all law, and completely ignore and even trample, disregard, disrespect and wilfully violate the Rtam the divine law of Brahman of which Dharma and Karma are its fundamental components.
We had two golden eras after Ram Rajya:
• During the period of the Mauryas in the BCE Era
• During the period of Samudragupta and the Gupta Era in the CE Era.
If Bharat has to have any hope of restoring its past glory, it must abandon all the fraud FUKUS systems which place Self Interest as their guiding principle over Dharma and SEVA.
In FUKUS systems, self interest rules andDharma and SEVA(Selfless Sacrifice) is relegated only to their saints and prophets.
We must return to our eternal guiding principles that were laid down ever since Ram Rajya of Dharma and SEVA or Selfless Sacrifice which was the guiding principles of the Golden Era of Bharat, especially during the time of the Mauryas when we surpassed even the Roman and Greek empires and made Alexander retreat in fearful haste without even daring to fight us.
This book contains my life’s learning not only from books, but more importantly from living in the USA and Bharat and dealing with its common citizens and governmentson a daily basis.
I have seen the best and the worst of both the USA and Bharat, but choose to live and die in Bharat, because we still have a sense of morals and values and don’t worship money as the ultimate satisfaction, despite all our so-called flaws.
I doubt if rude, crude,characterless men and serial rapists like Trump or even Bill Clinton would ever be elected as supreme leaders of Bharat.
Instead despite all the flaws of our politicians, we still manage to elect men like S Radhakrishnan and APJ Abdul Kalam as our supreme leaders and still respect, honour and cherish Anna Hazare and Swami Vivekanandaand hold them in higher regard than Mukesh Ambani or Vijay Mallaya.
