Three Unconventional Games for Team Building

Good team building means strong relationships developed from strong motivated people and can come from a variety of organizations and groups all working together.

4th August 2011 - A lot of companies these days try to incorporate games as a part of Team Building exercises which is a great thing but most of them fall short of ideas on what should the team play on the day of the task. To clear this problem, the following lines contain information on some unconventional games which can be used for enhancing the chemistry in the team.
One of the best puzzle games which can be employed for this purpose is ‘In the picture’. In this, the team is divided into several groups and provided puzzles from which one piece is removed. The teams would be able to complete the puzzle but would have one piece missing. Then they have to tell as to what that missing piece represents as a part of the whole team. The coordinator should be ready for some amazing or funny answers from their teams as they can reply with quality control or supply officers.
The next game in the list is a physical game called All Aboard. Depending on the team sizes, the coordinator has to mark off a three foot or one foot square with a duct or masking tape. Then numbers have to be drawn for every member in the team. The members have to stand in the order the numbers are drawn. When the number in the square increases, the members would have to work together and make sure to find a creative way in which everyone is onboard.
The last exercise which can be used for the aforementioned purpose is bridge the gap and this requires the team into groups of two to four. They are provided with twelve toothpicks and small modeling clay ball. They are instructed to build the longest bridge that they can and the points would be awarded to them depending on the bridge’s ability to stand, ability to hold weight, length and the speed at which it is constructed.
These three Team Building techniques are just fun games that children play every day but with careful moderation one can create an environment which would help their team to learn a lot and implement the learning in their work.
