7th September 2011 - Man is a social animal and there is no two opinion about that but the varied nature of individual often becomes the cause of disparity.
This can best be sighted in any avenue that functions on the performance of not one individual but a team as a whole. It becomes very difficult to develop a feeling of brotherhood among the various members of team. This brings depreciation in the overall performance and must be dealt at the earliest to avoid complete downfall.
Team Building can be of profound importance in this regard and may be very effective in developing unity among the members of diverse races, culture, taste and sex.
It’s human nature and a proven fact that no two fingers can be the same yet the purpose they serve as a whole is commendable. The purpose of such workshops is to inculcate this spirit among the individuals. This is achieved by various tasks and activities which gradually helps each individual to realize the importance of unity. They gradually shed all minor differences based on caste, color, creed and sex and begin to develop a chord of harmony amongst themselves. A helping hand is then being lent out by each member towards their colleagues and it is then that aim of the workshop seems to be fulfilled.
Although generating this harmonious chord may not be an easy task and the counselor appointed to do so may have to face many hurdles initially. It gets extremely tough to motivate the members to pay heed to their words. This entire process may take few days and tough errands too. If the members are directly conveyed the message of developing a feeling of unity amongst themselves it would be simply futile. Hence efforts are taken from the part of the counselor to achieve the same through certain activities and errands.
Team Building activities are very simple and full of fun in the initial stages. It is necessary to plan such humorous activities so that it develops a keen interest among the members and motivates them for participation. Gradually through the tough errands the counselors manage to understand the state of mind of the members.
