20th July 2011 - All the major search engines have regularly corroborated the fact that for them content is the king because it helps them serve the visitors to their site well.

The stance has been changed in the last few years to be that for them, quality content and information is the best.

However, things have been changing with the passage of time and it is now difficult to just maintain the ranking through on site optimization, Link Building and right content.

Although the new factors aren’t much popular yet, it is best to include them in the monthly analysis otherwise even a small fall in the rankings could result in huge loss of web traffic.

The recent additions to the search engine’s ranking programs have shown that the speed of the website is also calculated via a speed meter. This meter calculates the speed or the time taken by the website to load the page completely.

This is done because a number of websites, which have low content, put up pop up ads and this reduces the speed of their loading page. Hence, their ranking can be lowered with the help of the speeding meter thereby ensuring that no pop up related sites come to the top rankings.

However, the content is also checked here because if a website has good layout, graphics and content then it is bound to take more speed. What the optimizers or the company can do is to study the layout of the speed meter and check the things with which they can enhance the loading speed of their website.

Earlier, Google and other search engines used to put a lot of emphasis on EDU and GOV sites and these usually came first when the related keywords were typed in by the user.

However, the studies over the years have shown that these websites are reported to post the most amounts of spam and due to that their order has been pegged down and now they are being given less prominence than the other websites.

Hence, if one wishes to enhance the links pointing to their website then they shouldn’t go to the government or education sites as that might not help much.

There were a number of links pointing towards a single page via low quality websites earlier.

However, the search engines have tightened their surveillance on these websites as it is apparent that a number of optimizers are just making one page websites and stuffing them with links of their main landing page. These are being penalized with either money or by banning them from the indexes.

Hence, if the links are unnatural or are showing spam in them then they would be removed along with the site that is responsible for such marketing.

These updates are quite important considering the way in which content is being presented is changing slowly but these do bode good for the organic websites as the other forms of link building and SEO Services are being penalized heavily.
