Oregon, IL – [Aug. 20, 2024] – Armor Research Company, in collaboration with the Ogle County Sheriff’s Office, will hold a special media event at 1:00 PM at the Ogle County Sheriff’s Office in Oregon, Illinois, to honor three officers who were shot in the line of duty in Dixon this past June. The event, hosted by Sheriff Brian VanVickle, will include an update on the incident and the health of the officers involved.
During the event, Armor Research Company’s CEO, Kennith Hall, will present a brand new shield to one of the officers, replacing the shield that took rounds during the incident and is no longer in service. The shield’s inventor, retired officer Jim Boydd, will be acknowledged for his life-saving creation.
In recognition of their bravery, the officers will be awarded a Lifetime Employee Discount on all Armor Research Company products, as well as certificates for specialized training with these products. This training, provided in partnership with RDI Training & Consulting, will be presented by retired officers George Chavez and Jim Nunley on behalf of Armor Research Company.
