Dimensions of People

I don’t know why but I always felt that people had dimensions and they all interact with the world given their attributes, just like in math. I don’t know how many dimensions I have (maybe none), I don’t know if there is such a thing as a negative dimension, but I think I can imagine a world where people clash and the result is what we live in: the world. We reproduce ourselves in different dimensions and sometimes the sum of us is greater and sometimes less. But I ask myself “How is this possible? Can people encounter result in matrix products? Can they join, cross, or eliminate each other’s dimension?”
Can we look at people in terms of dimensions?
There will be those with zero dimensions, the zero-dimensional. Ones who would add nothing to those they ‘add’ to and destroy those with whom they ‘multiply’. The ZD’s don’t do anything but diminish the impact of others no matters how diminished others may be or become after the encounter. They stare quietly as a great speech is rendered, clap without understanding the true meaning of a great song, “viva something!” you without knowing what it is that they are for or against.
But don’t think that the world does not need the ZD’s. Without zero, math is incomplete. We all know how important this little notation is especially when it is on the right side of your paycheck’s decimal points. The world needs the non-opinionated, ever-hooraying, and all-for ZD’s. That is how ZD presidents win second terms, and ZD kings rule forever, and ZD talentless talents occupy the top charts of any ZD magazine. The world needs the masses who are built out of zeros; masses with no mass.
There will be those with one dimension then; let’s call them the OD’s. The OD’s know that they are better that the ZD’s but sometimes miss the point and think that they have more to them than the one dimension they were born with. You see them in parties, talking about their choice of red wine and how important the texture of the grape is. Yet, in all parties, that’s the only thing OD’s talk about all the time. What do you expect? They have only one dimension and that’s all they see. They make great professionals though and when they are good (even when it’s due to Asperger syndrome, Ritalin, or any combination of one dimensional mental super steroids), they are really good! The OD’s win Nobel prizes, competitions, and anything about what they do best. They don’t hooray those they don’t understand, but love those they do without reason. Isn’t it always like that though? When masses don’t understand something, they either worship or hate it.
In any case, the OD’s add one to those they ‘add’ to and at least keep the integrity of those they choose to multiply with. The problem is that the world has suffered mountains of casualties when the OD’s rally behind the ZD’s. When they pull the trigger, they are really good! When they drop the bombs, they are really good! The OD’s win wars and battles for you all the same. Some believe that their knowledge in one area means that they can decide anything in less than a second and that decision is final. The kings like OD’s when they are loyal and shoot them on sight when they are wearing the wrong colors. The OD’s see the world as one giant Yes or No.

The two-dimensional individual has the courage to look beyond the first thing she mastered. The TD’s talents takes them farther, allows them to make decisions that does not match their first reaction. They can size up situations, they can see trends, use comparative observations, and make educated guesses that not everyone understands specially confusing the ZD’s and OD’s. Yet they are the ones being clapped and hoorayed for by the lower dimensions. Like in math, the TD’s dominate the lower dimensions. They multiply and add anything by large factors and affect their surroundings, the others, the system and most things they touch. Yet their impact is ‘localized’. They don’t change the top formulas. They don’t change the world to the point of revolutions. The TD’s are quiet collaborators with a moral compass. They complain about gas prices but fill up their tanks before the weekend to see places they have not seen. They hate the ordinary, but secretly buy the music for their kids’ birthday. They know what politicians say, but don’t say it in votes come election time. The TD’s are too busy abusing their dimensions, rather than multiplying or adding with others. You see, they think they are helplessly successful and don’t want to lose that advantage.

The three dimensional individuals understand the dynamics of the world. The 3D’s can exactly tell you what they think and furthermore, make you agree to it. They can give you an adjustable coordinate to match your thoughts in all dimensions. They outsmart you in every aspect and their self-confidence adds another level of believability for all people with less dimensions. They think and can rule the world yet they choose to enjoy the world while destroying it bit by bit. They cross product anything and magnify anything they touch. They can negate any dimension they don’t like and redirect it and call it a new vector in life. Sub dimensional entities love the 3D’s and gather around them like butterflies around candles, ready to burn for them. The 3D’s rarely start by being selfish or greedy but when they try to change the world the process will change them. How long before a ZD understands anything but zero? How many times can they try to explain an ‘area’ to OD’s? How much effort do they need to explain volume to a TD? So they give up, they talk complicated like it is everyone’s business to understand, and make utopian-centered speeches fit for all dimensions. They use and abuse the lower dimensions until there is nothing left and then they pack and visit other areas. Their stories shape history.

Beyond this, there are the n-dimensional individuals. They are gods living amongst men. No one every understood them and what people don’t understand, they worship. The finite-dimensional individuals, collectively, thought of the ND’s as lords of our times, gave them books and stories to go along with it, and allowed the 3D’s to use the notion to rule over all. The ND’s don’t mind. They are too good to mind what the petty dimension thinks of them. They have it all and don’t need more of ‘it’. They don’t need to add or multiply, they don’t need to care; they just need to exist so that they can bridge the gap between the zeros and ones and anything in between.
How many dimensions do you have?
