After set up a Windows 10 system, it's a good idea to create a password reset disk just in case you lose access to your account. But this happens again and again, we only realize that we forgot to create such a disk when we're locked out of the computers.

PCUnlocker is a boot disk that can help in such situations. It can reset lost local administrator password on Windows 10/8/7/Vista/XP, and bypass Microsoft account login for Windows 10, 8.1 and 8. The software comes with three editions, and the Enterprise edition also supports Windows 10/8 UEFI secure boot.

PCUnlocker is distributed as a CD image. To unlock your computer, you need to burn a disc using another computer you've access to. You can also install it to a USB thumb drive if you don't have a CD/DVD recorder.

Boot your locked computer with the CD, you'll see all the local accounts on your computer. Choose one of the accounts and click "Reset Password" button. The program removes your forgotten password and reset the account's properties when the account is detected as locked, disabled or expired.

If you use a Microsoft account with your computer, select the linked local account and click "Reset Password". It will additionally convert your Microsoft account to local account. So you can still regain access to your computer even when your Microsoft account is locked out.
