Arif Patel (1969-2019) was a renowned Indian business executive and entrepreneur, more commonly known as the Celebrity Husband of Kaykasshan Patel – a famous name in the pop music industry. His real birth name was Arif Asgar Patel. He was the Executive Vice Chairman of Patel Integrated Logistics Limited (PILL).[1] His father Asgar Shakoor Patel founded the flagship of Patel Roadways Ltd (PRL) in 1959 and launched Patel On-Board Couriers Ltd (POBC) which strategically merged to become Patel Integrated Logistics Limited.[2][3] His mother was a homemaker.

Early Life and Education
Arif Patel was born in 1969 with a silver spoon in the family of Patels in Mumbai, Maharashtra, India. He was a heart-winning personality and bagged the Swamy Mukadam Trophy and a Silver Medal at the age of 6 for being the youngest swimmer to swim from Sunken Rock to Gateway of India.[2]

He also won many other laurels in the category of swimming during the years 1983-86. In addition, he represented Otter Clubs at many State Level Tournaments and used to be an excellent Squash player.

Arif Patel did his schooling in the U.S.A. and completed the graduation course in Management from the University of Mumbai.[2]

Career as a Businessman
Arif Patel joined Patel Integrated Logistics Limited in 1993 and became Executive Vice Chairman of the company. He was involved in the day-to-day business affairs and emerged as a well-known businessman. He used to take care of Patel Group’s Logistics business and handled various aspects, such as Strategic Planning, Financial Health, and Mergers and Acquisitions.[4]

Personal Life
Arif Patel was a humble, kind, and socialite personality and had multiple Bollywood connections as well. He was the youngest son born to Asgar Shakoor Patel. He liked sports and actively participated in swimming competitions and squash games during his early years. He got married to Kaykasshan Patel in 2000 after dating her for five years. They have two sons, named Arhaan and Numaire. [5]

Death and Reactions
Arif Patel died on July 29, 2019, after suffering from a sudden cardiac arrest.[6] His funeral was attended by many Bollywood celebrities, including Actor Rohit Roy, model Elena Fernandes, politician Baba Siddique, celebrity photographer Dabboo Ratnani, Salman Khan’s sister Alvira Khan and her filmmaker husband Atul Agnihotri, and Sajid Nadiadwala’s wife Wardha. After the funeral, Raveena Tandon, Interior Designer and Wife of Shahrukh Khan – Gauri Khan, and Karan Johar also paid a visit to the Patel family. Malaika Arora grieved the family at Patel Residence with her sister Amrita Arora and her husband Shakeel Ladak. Besides, Dino Morea and filmmaker Madhur Bhandarkar attended the Prayer Meet as well on the next evening. Many other celebrities, such as Maanyata Dutt, Sanjay Kapoor, and Isha Koppikar were also seen grieving at Patel’s House.[7]
