Express Entry invites 2000 applicants in the recent draw

Summary: On plan, Canada will welcome 55,900 immigrants in 2022; by 2024, the target will increase to 111,500. 2,000 Express Entry candidates received invitations to apply for permanent residency in Canada. A Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score of at least 542 was required for applicants. The Comprehensive Ranking System is a point-based system used by Canada Express Entry to rank application profiles. At least one of these programs already accepts candidates for the Provincial Nominee Program (PNP). Changes suggested in the recently passed Bill C-19 will go into effect in early 2023.

Express Entry keeps expanding its application pool while lowering its CRS. After an 18-month hiatus, the IRCC organizes its second straight all-program draw. On August 3, Canada encouraged 2,000 Express Entry candidates to submit their applications for permanent residency.

Canada is on track to admit 55,900 immigrants through Express Entry in 2022; by 2024, the target will increase to 111,500. Candidates with a Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score of at least 542 received invitations. The IRCC has resumed holding all-program drawings, despite plans to make more changes to the Express Entry system.

Anyone who receives an invitation to apply may file an application for permanent residence in Canada.

Furthermore, Canada sent out 250 more invites in this round than it did in the 1,750 sent out in the last round. The tie-breaking policy is scheduled to go into force on January 6, 2022.
