Express Entry draw observes an Increase in ITA’s and a decline in CRS scores

Summary: After an 18-month hiatus, IRCC holds its second consecutive all-program draw. Canada is on track to welcome 55,900 immigrants through Express Entry in 2022, with the number expected to rise to 111,500 by 2024. Candidates with at least a 542 on the Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) were invited. For Express Entry candidates, the Canadian Immigration and Refugee Council (IRCC) has resumed all-program draws. IRCC held PNP and CEC draws every two weeks prior to the pandemic. Bill C-19's reforms are set to go into effect in early 2023.

In the new all-program draw, ITAs rise while CRS falls. After an 18-month hiatus, IRCC holds its second consecutive all-program draw.

It was announced on July 20 that 1,750 Express Entry candidates would be invited to apply for permanent residence. Canada is on track to welcome 55,900 immigrants through Express Entry in 2022, with a goal of 111,500 by 2024.

Candidates with at least a 542 on the Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) were invited.

The CRS requirement for the new draw is 15 points lower than the previous all-program draw on July 6, which had a minimum cut-off score of 557.

The tie-breaking rule is set to become effective on December 30, 2021. The reforms outlined in Bill C-19, which was recently passed, are set to go into effect in early 2023.

Once implemented, IRCC will be able to hold targeted draws for Express Entry candidates based on a specific economic goal.
