On February 15, British Columbia invited 140 IT employees to apply for a provincial nomination. In order to qualify for the invitations, which are granted through the BC Provincial Nominee Program's Tech stream, applicants must meet the Express Entry BC or Skills immigration requirements.

For in-demand IT employees and overseas students, the BC PNP Tech programme is a fast-track immigration pathway. Candidates for the BC PNP automatically receive 600 points for their Comprehensive Ranking Procedure score, putting them in a strong position to receive an Invitation to Apply (ITA) for permanent residence through the Express Entry system. Candidates will receive a nomination confirmation if they are approved, which they can use to apply to Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) for permanent residency under the Provincial Nominee Program Class.
