Anthony Tata Launches Writing Career After 28-years in Military with Exciting Military Suspense Thrillers

Retired Brigadier General Anthony Tata is today a bestselling novelist after a 28-year career in military and political fields. Melding that extraordinary depth of experience with an acute literary acumen, Tata released his first novel, Sudden Threat, in 2009. Sudden Threat became the first in the Threat series, comprised of Rogue Threat, Hidden Threat and Number 4, Mortal Threat.

Anthony Tata stayed in the military suspense thriller genre in his next novel, but gave readers new hero Jake Mahegan and ventured into the gritty territory of domestic terror with Foreign & Domestic. Foreign & Domestic took Tata to new heights of storytelling magic, as he became a Barry Award Finalist for 2016. The Barry Awards originated with the editorial staff of Deadly Pleasures magazine, which is dedicated to finding and reporting the best books published in crime fiction. In 1997, awards for excellence were introduced, and named for the fan reviewer Barry Gardner, who had an untimely death. Foreign & Domestic received high praise from President George W. Bush, Governor Rick Perry and former House Speaker Newt Gingrich.

Anthony Tata’s latest, Three Minutes to Midnight, was featured in Publishers Weekly with a starred, boxed review. Publishers Weekly is an international journal of publishing and bookselling which began in 1872, and has been published continuously for 142 years, a venerated source of book and publishing information. Three Minutes to Midnight, released in April of 2016, continues the Jake Mahegan story in a pulse pounding race against time to stop an assault in the homeland. The electrifying thriller was praised by President George H.W. Bush, Glenn Beck, Newt Gingrich, Suspense Magazine and Publishers Weekly, which wrote that “Mahegan stands out from the crowd of usual thriller heroes.”

Anthony Tata is preparing to release his 3rd novel in the Jake Mahegan series in February 2017, and hopes to have a 4th Mahegan adventure ready in September 2017. Tata donates significant portions of his earnings to military veteran’s causes, with 100% of the proceeds from the Threat series going to the USO Metro DC Hospital Services fund for Wounded Warriors at the Walter Reed and Bethesda Medical Centers.
