Anthony Tata is a retired US Army Brigadier General turned author. In 2015, he released his fifth book, entitled ‘Foreign and Domestic.’ The thriller novel featuring Delta Force veteran Jake Mahegan quickly found its way onto the national bestsellers list and was nominated for a Barry Award in 2016. The Barry Award is presented by Deadly Pleasures Mystery Magazine for the best works being published in the field of crime fiction. The winner of the Barry award for best thriller will be announced on September 15, 2016, during the opening ceremonies of the annual Bouchercon Convention being held in New Orleans.

Anthony Tata has a long and distinguished career in the military and the private sector. After serving in the US Army and retiring as a Brigadier General, he made the transition into the private sector accepting the position of the Chief Operating Officer for the Washington DC Public School system. He has also served as the Superintendent of the Wake County Public School System in North Carolina and the Secretary of Transportation for the state. Currently, he is a senior managing partner for US Investco, a multi-million-dollar real estate, and logistics company. During his free time uses his combat and operational experience to write realistic thrillers.

Anthony Tata is the author of five thriller novels with his sixth novel ‘Three Minutes to Midnight’ set for release in April 2016. His first book, ‘Sudden Threat’ was published in 2008 and made the Amazon and Barnes and Noble bestseller lists. It was quickly followed by the second book in the series, ‘Rogue Threat.’ The final two books in the series, ‘Hidden Threat’ and ‘Mortal Threat’ followed soon afterward. His novel ‘Foreign and Domestic’ was the first book featuring retired Delta Force member Jake Mahegan. ‘Three Minutes to Midnight’ is the second book in the series. Anthony Tata donates a portion of the sales of his books to the Michael Murray Foundation, the USO Metro DC, and the North Carolina Heroes Fund.
