As a child growing up in a family that put the emphasis on education along with a couple of other similarly important core values, Anthony Tata was ready for the leading role from a very young age. These basic core values that included discipline and a unique brand of work ethic were instilled into him early, setting him up to achieve big things. After finishing high school, he got enrolled to the United States Military Academy at West Point, New York, a decision that ended up molding his life.

At the military academy he not only received a world class education, but also a taste of what it would mean to serve his country. The time Anthony Tata spent within the walls of the prestigious establishment inspired him to stay on the military path and fight in Iraq before pursuing a career as a military administrator. In a role he would end directing innovation and overseeing a portfolio consisting north of a 100 programs, boosting a combined budge of almost $5 billion.

In 1991 he earned an International Relations and Political Economy degree at the Catholic University of America, two years before attending the School of Advanced Military Studies in Leavenworth and getting his Military Art and Science of Strategic Planning diploma. His next educational milestone came during the turn of the millennium between 1999 and 2000, earning yet another academic accomplishment.

The National Security Fellow post graduation program allowed him to accumulate valuable knowledge regarding certain issues. It was this knowledge – along with his extensive military career - that later helped him becoming a foreign policy expert, earning constant guest appearances at the largest news channels all around the country. In 2003 he graduated from the Hampton Roads CIVIC Leadership Institute.

In 2009 he became a fellow of the Broad Superintendents Academy, only to reach the same status two years later at a similarly distinguished establishment as a post-graduate member of the Leadership Triangle. They are an organization that was established more than 20 years ago, with a mission to educate and promote regionalism. With his educational background and experience, Anthony Tata is proud to help the Wake County Public School System in the superintendent role.
