This can be a step by step tutorial of how to make a silicone mold. The items utilized are all household products.

Step 1 Place the sculpture on a your bed of clay. The clay needs to cover ½ from the sculpture. If this were a plaster mold, the midline where the clay goes up to needs to be along the highest factors with no undercuts. This is the surface you will make the first half your mold on.

Step 2 Smooth the surface of the clay having a wet brush, then put four 1/4 " circular 1" long pieces of clay on the bed to act because keys for the silicone. Put a piece of clay on the top of the actual sculpture to act as a pour spout (Sometimes the put opening will be along the seam line. In that case, be sure to let it stay open, never cover the pour hole)

Step 3 Place a thin layer of Vaseline on the clay bed and figurine.

Step 4 (Read and follow warning labels on almost all chemicals) Mix 1/3 cup of silicone with two tbsp of rubber cement together in a bowl. Must have the texture of peanut butter.

Step 5 Spread the silicone on the clay bed and sculpture. Do not cover the very best of the pour hole.

Step 6 Press 1 ½ sq . pieces of drywall mesh into the silicone. Notice that we failed to cover the pour hole.

Step 7 Cover the mesh with a thin layer of you silicone mixture.

Stage 8 Cover dry silicone with layer of Petroleum jelly. Then mix plaster into a bowl with water, what should feel like pudding when correctly mixed. Then put a thin layer of mixed plaster on the Vaseline coated surface associated with silicone (do not cover pour hole).

Step nine Proceed to dip 3x 2 pieces of burlap in combined plaster and place them on the plaster layer from earlier step. Do not cover pour hole. While the plaster continues to be wet, lightly spray the surface of the burlap with h2o and also smooth out the surface. Step 10 Cut the clay sleep free from your working surface with something sharp (never reduce towards yourself). Turn over the mold and remove clay-based bed from sculpture. The clay inside the key slot machines needs to be removed as well. Clean any remaining clay pieces off.

Step 11 Cover first half of the mold along with sculpture with Vaseline (don't forget to put Vaseline within the keys). Now repeat the entire process on this side.
