After 5 years of being alone, my fiance and I finally moved in together last year July 2020. We knew each other prior, but we were never able to get together due to outside influences. Now, we finally reconnected after many years and moved in together into our new home. Now, just 2 months ago, we learned that I am carrying his child. Everything seemed ok, and we were planning for a small cheap wedding so the child can be born in wedlock, until first my fiance lost his job and then the hurricane came.

During the hurricaine’s storm huge flood waters submerged our only home, where I, my fiance and our cat Lily were living right in the middle of a heavy flood zone. The area in which we sat, gathered up to nearly 3-4 feet of water outside the home, which did not take long to flood.
Water flooded our old home, rotting it’s wooden paneled walls (and fully demolishing others) and in one night we lost all we own; appliances, clothing, electronics, furniture, everything, including the few things we have been stocking up on for the impending child (our baby carriage and cradle is no longer useable). . This was our only such home, as both I and my fiance struggle desperately to finish our own respective schools and maintain all around us simultaneously. Our cat lily is our only other living family.
We ask those more fortunate than us to help contribute to help us rebuild our home and reality. Expenses are high, and we have no sufficient income to help. Shortly, very soon, he, I and our Lily cat will be on the street with many others in similar situations.
