GSTN Now Facilities Communication Between Suppliers And Buyers

Posted December 28, 2020 by AnilTanwarMI

The Goods and Service Tax Network has enabled a communication facility on the common portal. With this facility, taxpayers can officially communicate with each other.

The new communication functionality launched by the GSTN provides a communication platform for taxpayers. With this feature, a recipient/purchaser can ask his supplier/s to upload any particular invoice/s that has not been uploaded but is required by the recipient to avail the eligible Input Tax Credit (ITC). Furthermore, the supplier can also reply to the recipient through the same facility. Similarly, the supplier can send a notification to his recipient about the documents uploaded in the outward supply statement filed in Form GSTR-1.

Interestingly, this tool is integrated in such a way that when the functionality is used, an intimation will also be sent to the counterparts through an email and SMS by the GSTN.

The GSTN expects that this facility will help taxpayers reconcile their invoices and claim eligible ITC in time. It is also planning to add more features to this tool. Facility to import invoices from the communication facility to GSTR-1 looks like the next step.
