From Sukumar Ray to Suhel Seth, the place has flourished as a nation with many talented and well-known personalities. Calcutta is a place that holds a fine line of proximity between the old world and the modernized one. People visiting the city might fall in love with the charm, the city holds. Every nook and corner of the city has a tale to be portrayed.

The Pivot

Calcutta being a busy town, served as both the political and economic capital of British India till 1912. It was declared as the seat of supreme courts of justice and supreme revenue administration. By the 19th century, Calcutta became the second largest city of the British India Empire. And later on, the capital was shifted to Delhi but the city has the ability to arrest millions of hearts.

The Howrah Bridge

It is an iconic landmark and located at the heart of the city. It is considered to be one of the largest cantilever bridges in the world. The bridge suspends across the Hooghly River and stands as a representation of Calcutta. If you happen to visit Calcutta, go to the bridge in the evenings and feel immersed in the river of peace.

Victoria Memorial

This largest building in Calcutta is built and dedicated in memory of Queen Victoria. Now this acts as a museum under the Ministry of Culture. The beauty of the memorial is its dome which is exactly 16 feet, the figure of the Queen.
