Andrew Nardo Celebrates 15 Years on SCAC Honor Roll

Andrew Nardo celebrates 15 year anniversary of being on the honor roll for the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference for football.

 
Andrew Nardo was an outstanding football player during his days at DePauw University in Greencastle, Indiana. This year, the former defensive player who has resided in Dallas, Texas for the last thirteen years, is celebrating fifteen years on the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference’s Honor Roll.

Andrew Nardo was elected to the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference’s Honor Roll for football in the fall of 1998. At the time, Andrew Nardo had a 3.67 grade point average, demonstrating his commitment to academic excellence. Andrew Nardo would go on to set the record for the highest grade point average by a football player during his time at DePauw University. This year marks fifteen years since that election to the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference’s Honor Roll, recognition that Andrew Nardo is still immensely proud of.

Besides football, the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference elects athletes, both men and woman, from cross-country, soccer, and volleyball during its fall season. Andrew Nardo was elected to the honor roll along with 362 other students from schools across the southern United States including Trinity University, Rhodes College, and Sewanee University during the fall of 1998.

Along with his election to the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference’s Honor Roll, Andrew Nardo counts among his football achievements his selection as Most Valuable Player for Defense for DePauw’s Monon Bell rivalry game against the Wabash College Little Giants in 2000. Andrew Nardo was also captain of the football team that year. During the summer, Andrew Nardo was given the opportunity to play football abroad in Germany. Andrew Nardo was also a founding member of Alpha Sigma Chi, a dual recognition fraternity for those with demonstrated academic and athletic excellence. Still, among all these achievements, Andrew Nardo counts his place on the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference’s Honor Roll as among his proudest achievements.

Fifteen years later, Andrew Nardo is a computer scientist and philanthropist who continues to strive for excellence in his professional and personal life. In celebrating fifteen years on the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference Honor Roll, Andrew Nardo is celebrating a long tradition of excellence that promises to extend into the future.
