7 Tips on how to become the best Anchor/Emcee/ Host:

Take the lead while talking. Authority in your voice is important but care should be taken not to sound too cocky. Audiences will pay more attention to you when you sound like you know what to say, not mumblings.
Pay attention to speaking rate. Ramblings can be quite annoying to listen too. Don’t just speak too fast or slow. Let there be rhythm in your voice and take note of the speed of your statements. Important, make sure you give room for the audience to hear you.

Apply some humor. Everyone likes a funny anchor. Look for innovative ways to add subtle jokes to your speech. It doesn’t have to be anything too hysterical; anchoring not a comedy. Focus on making the audience laugh without distracting them from the events taking place. Comedy anchoring is a talent and Abner have it in his nerves.

Listen to other anchors/emcees. Learn from other emcees. Take the time to visit other events and take note of their techniques and speech patterns. There’s always something to learn from others.

Work on your voice. As much as your appearance matter, your voice matters more. Your voice is what will either thrill or bore the audience. Take out time to work on your voice and train it. Ensure you can speak as eloquently as possible while focusing on the use of clear and targeted speech.

Make use of personal stories. Here, you may need to be cautious. Don’t get too personal but a chip in some personal stories. It’s a very quick way to connect with your audience. But keep it to the minimum, it can easily irritate the audience that you’re constantly talking about yourself.
